hey guys, I know, late entry on this one.... We have playoffs tonight at 6:10 at halmich diamond six. Great season overall, there was a lot of real progress made. We learned a lot, adopted a new style of play that really works with our guys, and made it work for us (most of the time) I'll shoot out emails when we know something about spring season. Hopefully (hint hint) we'll know if we got some of our OG's coming back or not ;) matt

Warren added a new team, therefore the schedule is screwed up right now. We had a bye last week and next week we are at halmich #5 at 8:30, so we finally get to play this season! If the postmaster ever stops screwing with us and decides to stop the prank and give us our new schedule I'll get the scedule updated and correct. see you guys thursday, and if you can't make it let me know. matt

Well, the thursday games have been postponed because it's hard to play under the lights when there are none. This Thursaday's games should go on as scheduled and I'll let you all know when the postponed games will be made up. The fall season for the newly named SBC team begins Thursday, August 14th! Games are at 8:30 and 9:45 vs "Fat Chance" (let's hope they're right) at WEIGAND FIELD diamond #2. I have "retired" for the Fall season. LaRue has retired for good, though he has agreed to continue entering scoresheets on the site if need be.Matt N. has agreed to maintain the site as well.

For the 2nd week in a row we're rained out. Strange, because it's been sunny on my side of town. Very slight sprinkles occationally throughout the day, but not enough to wash out a softball field. Such is Michigan Weather. See you next week, and remember all games going forward will be at Weigand Field.

Also, no I don't have any makeup game info yet. We have three games to make up now, in case you're keeping score.

The rainout recording says the game's "postponed", so I called Parks & Rec and they said that means "cancelled" for tonight. So, unless there's a make up game in between, We'll see you all next week.

Hey, hey a 9-8 win! We tried to lose, but couldn't pull it off ;). Enjoy it, because 9 runs doesn't win many games.

10:30 am This saturday at Livionia. That's on the corner of Five Mile and Inkster.

LaRue's out of town and the league never called me for the meeting, so we don't have a game time for tuesday yet. I'll call them today and find out what's going on.

Only the usual 5-6 people responded to my last email, so we're not totally sure who's on the team. So now we have to get on the phone and call everyone. Thanks guys. This is making my and LaRue's decision whether to retire from softball after the spring half much easier.

LaRue signed us up this week. Im not sure when the season starts, but its pretty damn soon.....The first 3 weeks we will play on tuesday and thursday nights, then will return to doubleheader play on (I think) tuesday nights only....In case you haven't noticed, we are unsponsored at the moment. At least we will be free to choose how and where to imbibe after the games. I'd kinda like to do the tailgate thing like we used to, since a lot of the other teams out there seem to do it without problems....Each player will have to sponsor himself in the amount of approximately 45$ each...We have 11 players confirmed and are working on signing 2-3 more....Mark W. is among the 11 confirmed....We will be calling a practice soon, so please check back regularly.

Here's the long-awaited Spring 2003 Softball news you've all been waiting for.

We're playing at Warren again. Season starts April 29th. For the first three weeks we will play on tuesday AND thursday nights. After the three weeks, we will go to once a week TUESDAY nights. 14 games total, not counting playoffs.

***We will have a practice Saturday April 26th, location is T.B.A., though I suspect it will be in Livonia.***

We have NO sponsor! So if anyone has a prospective sponsor let LaRue know ASAP. Otherwise, expect your dues to be about 45$. LaRue has paid the entire entry fee out of his own pocket, so I think it would be a damn nice gesture if everyone would pay him on the 26th.

Please everyone REPLY for one final head count. Lemme know if your playing, if you can make it to practice, and if payment to LaRue by the 26th is going to be a problem for you.
